Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8, 8 Slot Hard Drive Dock for Media Backup
Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8 lets you use low cost computer hard drives to back up your media.
It also syncs with Blackmagic Cloud to back up collaborative DaVinci Resolve projects.
Each hard drive slot is completely independent so you can install up to 8 backup disks at a time.
When disks are full, you can disconnect them and replace them with empty hard drives to increase your storage capacity.
It also features 4 x 10G Ethernet ports to take advantage of the speed of modern high capacity hard drives.
Hard drives are the most cost effective storage option per TB and are fast enough to archive old projects.
There is also an HDMI monitoring output so you can keep an eye on the status of your storage.
Designed for Film and Television
Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8 is a great solution for post production where you need to archive your finished projects quickly and cost effectively.
It's great for creating a replay archive as files can get very large when recording multiple ISO channels.
You can even use it for teaching purposes as it can handle a large number of student media projects.
It also features a disk lock that prevents disks from being removed.
Today's hard drives are so fast that they can be used for primary storage, not just for archive projects!
You can also save projects to Blackmagic Cloud so you have a real time backup that keeps your work synchronized.
Elegant Rack Mount Design
Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8 features a rack mount design that makes it ideal for use in a studio with other network equipment or even in an on-set DIT booth for camera backup.
This way you always have another backup of the files recorded by the cameras!
You have 8 independent hard drive slots, and all the drives are available simultaneously on the network.
There is also a 4-port 10G Ethernet switch that ensures very high performance.
There is also an HDMI output to monitor the storage activity in real time on a TV or monitor.
Around each slot there is a nice illuminated circle that indicates the disk activity, so at a glance you can know which hard drives are reading or writing.
High Performance 10G Ethernet
Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8 features up to four high-speed 10G Ethernet ports, only available on the most expensive workstations.
10G Ethernet is 10 times faster than standard Ethernet, and can be enabled on most computers to take full advantage of its performance!
Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8 is so fast that it uses the full capacity of the 10G Ethernet ports, even when connected to an Ethernet network with dozens of users accessing files at the same time.
The extremely low latency of the Ethernet connection means fast access times.
It has the performance of expensive professional SANs in a budget-friendly design that you can install yourself!
Blackmagic Cloud Intelligent Sync
Now creative teams can share a local cache of files synced to Blackmagic Cloud, giving them a truly global workflow!
Blackmagic Cloud handles all the syncing, duplicating files in multiple locations so everyone can work with local copies of the files, so there's no latency because everyone is working with local copies of the files.
Blackmagic Cloud will continuously back up your files, eliminating the need for manual archiving.
Once a project is completed, it will be available on the Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8 disks, freeing up space on your primary fast storage device.
Blackmagic Cloud also handles the DaVinci Resolve proxy workflow, transferring proxies first and then the original camera files, so you can always reopen a project in minutes!
Free Software for Mac and Windows
If you want to change any settings, you can use the Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8 utility, which is compatible with Mac and Windows and also works with all Blackmagic Storage products, including Blackmagic Cloud Store and Blackmagic Cloud Dock.
Blackmagic Cloud Backup 8 is already configured for DHCP, so you can connect it to your network and start transferring files right away!
It's so easy to set up, you won't need a computer technician to get started.
However, if you want to customize your network, you can change settings and set up Blackmagic Cloud syncing in the utility.
