The MicroCue3 (MC3) was designed for speakers at small and medium-sized events, where reliable remote control of computer-based presentations is essential.

Thanks to the increasing use of computers for content viewing, more than one PC can be used to manage a single event. This provides a system that includes emergency backup and the ability for the speaker to view the slide following the one currently on air, allowing them to prepare their presentation to match the slide that follows.

The MicroCue3 was designed to be more reliable than its predecessor, the MicroCue2. One of its operating modes involves positioning three units networked together via the proprietary i2Net protocol with standard XLR cables, creating diversified coverage of the room and eliminating potential "dead zones" or areas particularly crowded with radio frequencies.

A small LCD display provides a comprehensive display of text and graphics to assist with setup, and three USB ports are available for controlling external computers. The MicroCue3 is powered by the connected computer via the USB port, using an optional external power supply, it can power the remote units connected to it via the i2Net network, without requiring a local USB port.

The i2Net protocol was developed for long distances over XLR cables (over 1500 m) with power and data over two pairs of cables, plus data for the LCD display. Automatic sharing of remote controls across the network ensures that all are recognized and operational, only when power to the main unit is lost are the network remotes "forgotten" and reverted to their pre-network state.

USB ports can be enabled or disabled individually to manage control of the computers connected to them. As for audio, the stereo connection via 3.5 mm mini jack allows for audio output tones, corresponding to the Forward, Backward and Image Dimming commands, which can be heard via a receiver with the volume adjustable from the control panel.
