The GN46 high-power flash unit boasts a level of sophistication and camera communication that only Sony can offer, providing reliable flash at high continuous shooting speeds and synchronization at shutter speeds of up to 1/80,000 sec.
In HSS (High-Speed Synchronization) mode, synchronization can occur at shutter speeds of between 1/400 and 1/8000 sec.
Intuitive interface operation, Quick Shift Bounce system and wireless radio communication add even more versatility.
Stable GN46 output for a wide range of needs
The HVL-F46RM, designed by Sony, can communicate with camera bodies to provide consistent GN46 light output that meets even professional needs.
Focal lengths from 24 mm (15 mm with diffuser) to 105 mm are supported.
Face Detection Linked Flash Control
With a compatible camera, white balance is automatically adjusted to produce natural-coloured faces.
The HVL-F46RM works with a compatible camera's Face Detection to ideally illuminate the main subject.
Highly accurate auto white balance
Thanks to its internal design, this advanced flash unit transfers colour temperature data to the camera, where it is used to precisely adjust the white balance for natural-coloured images in any situation.
Improved output for focal length and size
The flash illumination angle is automatically adjusted to match the focal length of the lens over a range of 24-105 mm.
Light distribution is adjusted for optimum results with full-frame or APS-C format.
High-speed continuous flash with quick recycling
Advanced electronics and construction provide rapid recycling times, enabling continuous flash shooting even for extended periods.
The four-battery set provides over 320 flashes with a recycling time of 2.0 seconds.
Overheat prevention for extended shooting
The use of heat-resistant materials and an optimised flash algorithm provides greater overheat resistance for continuous shooting over extended periods.
The HVL-46RM uses the same algorithms as the HVL-F60RM2, achieving overheat resistance approximately 1.7 times higher than the HVL-F45RM, for shooting without overheating issues.
