All three models are designed for the highest quality broadcast applications: UltraStudio Mini Monitor 12G plays back 12G-SDI and HDMI video, UltraStudio Mini Recorder 12G captures 12G-SDI and HDMI video, and UltraStudio Mini Replay 12G supports both 12G-SDI capture and playback with two independent 12G-SDI fill and key outputs, and a dedicated 12G-SDI monitoring output.
The Replay model also supports live replay in DaVinci Resolve, while all models are compatible with all SD, HD, and Ultra HD video standards up to 2160p60.
UltraStudio Mini Monitor 12G
This output-only model outputs 12G-SDI and HDMI signals in SD, HD, and Ultra HD.
It's the perfect solution for video playback from popular editing software.
The two 12G-SDI outputs support fill and key for broadcast graphics, automatically converting the alpha channel to graphics on a key output.
News Editing and Replay with DaVinci Resolve
The DaVinci Resolve cut page gives you exciting editing, media player and replay features.
DaVinci Resolve handles virtually all popular video file formats, so you can play back any client-supplied files. For broadcast graphics, DaVinci Resolve can play back video files that contain an alpha channel, which will be output as 10-bit SDI fill and key.
The new multi-source viewer also lets you browse clips and view all videos with the same timecode in a multiview.
New on-air controls allow the key output to trigger the downstream keyer on a switcher, so you can automate on-air playout with the push of a button.
DaVinci can even add an automatic stinger transition, perfect for news broadcasts and replay!
Lightning Fast Thunderbolt Connection
All UltraStudio Mini models feature a blazing fast Thunderbolt 4 connection that not only powers your laptop but also lets you capture and play back video with just a single cable! Thunderbolt 4 provides incredibly fast data transfer rates with enough bandwidth to handle high resolutions, higher bit depths and advanced frame buffer formats like 4:2:2:4 and 4:4:4:4.
You can even do realtime alpha conversions on the 10-bit 12G-SDI fill and key outputs.
UltraStudio Mini uses the DeckLink API, so it's compatible with most video software. Plus, because the Thunderbolt connection is bidirectional, the UltraStudio Mini Replay 12G model lets you capture, process, and playback video in real time, so you can use your computers for real-time graphics or AI processing!
Connections and features for replay and processing
The UltraStudio Mini Replay 12G model is even more powerful because it offers both capture and playback through a single Thunderbolt port!
It features dedicated 12G-SDI fill and key outputs that connect to the switcher's downstream keyer. The downstream keyer can be muted so that the video on the switcher doesn't start keying until playback starts.
And with an additional 12G-SDI output for monitoring, you always have an active output to set up the next replay, as well as a 12G-SDI video input that's perfect for live monitoring on the switcher's multiview.
Since UltraStudio Mini Replay 12G is bidirectional, you can even render broadcast graphics or AI processing to a live video input!
Independent fill and key outputs
UltraStudio Mini Replay 12G and Mini Monitor 12G have two 12G-SDI video outputs, allowing you to connect them to live production switchers for transparent graphics overlays.
Hardware support for RGBA and YUVA frame buffers is built in.
When using RGBA graphics, video frames are automatically transcoded from RGB pixels to YUV 4:2:2:4 video on the fill and key outputs with full 10-bit precision. These two SDI outputs are then connected to a live production switcher, where the signals can be combined with video.
The key output ensures transparent elements are seamlessly integrated into the image, making UltraStudio Mini 12G ideal for broadcast graphics and stinger transitions.
