High dynamic range
The PROMINENCE CG1 is an HDR (High Dynamic Range) reference monitor and offers a high dynamic range, i.e. the ratio between the darkest and brightest parts of the same image, which is defined in an extremely detailed manner both in the highlights and in the shadows.
Thanks to the high brightness levels of 1000 cd/m2 and the wide contrast ratio of 1000000:1, it is possible to display HDR material without resorting to dynamic contrast enhancement using technologies such as local dimming or ABL.
DCI-4K resolution
The PROMINENCE CG1 monitor boasts a DCI-4K resolution (4096 x 2160 (4K DCI) pixels), four times higher than that of Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels).
For this reason, it is perfect for those who work in video editing, color correction and color grading, 2D and 3D CGI computer animation, VFX visual effects or compositing processes in advanced film and multimedia production (films, advertising, animation, etc.).
DCI-P3 color space coverage
The monitor's wide color gamut offers 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 standard, ideal for post-production professionals, ensuring a uniform final result and more realistic colors.
10-bit Representation
The ColorEdge PROMINENCE CG1 offers 10-bit representation* that uses a 24-bit color look-up table (LUT) and is capable of reproducing over a billion colors, taking advantage of an extremely rich color spectrum, with smoother gradations and more refined transitions and smaller distance between adjacent shades (Delta-E).
* Requires the use of a graphics card and software capable of taking advantage of 10-bit color depth.
Digital Uniformity Equalizer
Pixel by pixel, the Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE) function manages the monitor's tonal values across the entire viewing area, ensuring identical chromaticity across the entire screen, without oscillations.
In this way, the monitor guarantees uniform and homogeneous light density and maximum color purity.
Three-dimensional LUT table and 3D emulation
The monitor is equipped with a three-dimensional color table, which, in combination with the ColorNavigator software, is able to emulate the chromaticity of film and therefore to represent images in the same quality perceived by the viewer.
Furthermore, the 3D reference table increases the precision of the monitor's additive mixture (composed of the primary colors red, green and blue) and consequently its ability to reproduce neutral shades of gray.
SDI interface
The PROMINENCE CG1 ColorEdge display combines the 12G/6G/3G/HD-SD single link digital interface with Dual and Quad Link 3G/HD-SDI connectors, allowing direct transmission of 4K video signals.
The SDI connectors support 2SI (2 Sample Interleave) solutions, in order to ensure a stable image during transmission.
Sending VPID (Video Payload ID) video identification data is also possible.
Users can set the camera protocol with ColorNavigator 7 to display filmed material with the corresponding camera protocol.
SMPTE ST 2110 standard for IP network solutions
The PROMINENCE CG1 display offers full compatibility with the SMPTE ST 2110 standard, allowing the monitor to integrate seamlessly into IP-based live production environments.
The integrated interfaces are capable of processing uncompressed video signals of the highest quality for the demands of live production workflows.
HDMI and DisplayPort
The monitor boasts a wide range of inputs that are conveniently located on the sides of the panel, allowing the monitor to be connected to multiple devices at the same time.
There is one HDMI and DisplayPort input, three USB downstream ports and two USB upstream ports.
The PROMINENCE CG1's USB port supports DCI 4K resolution up to 60Hz, 4:4:4 sampling and 12-bit encoding.
