Laowa 15mm f/4 WA 1X Macro Lens for Nikon F, Full Frame, Manual Focus - LWA15MSNIK
- Angle of view: 110°
- Maximum magnification: 1:1 macro with infinity focus
- Shift capability: +/- 6mm
- Optical construction: 12 elements in 9 groups with 3 high-refraction elements and one dispersion-reducing element
- Low-reflection multi-layer coating to prevent unwanted reflections
- Controlled definition from the center to the edges of the image
- Limited barrel distortion
- 14-blade aperture diaphragm
- Support for full-frame sensors
The Laowa 15mm f/4 Macro lens is the first wide-angle lens with a maximum magnification ratio of 1:1.
This allows photographers to experiment with the relatively new technique of "wide-angle macro photography" without the need for an extension tube.
Macro lenses on the market typically have medium to long focal lengths, limiting users who want to take very close-up shots of flowers or insects by not being able to show many details of the surrounding environment.
The lens can also serve as an excellent wide-angle lens with infinity focus for cameras with full-frame sensors.
A shift mechanism has been added to the rear of the lens with a maximum adjustment of +/- 6mm, which is extremely useful for architectural or landscape photography to correct distortion.
The lens consists of 12 elements in 9 groups, with 3 high-refractive elements and one dispersion-reducing element, to reduce chromatic aberrations and ghosting and provide crystal-clear image clarity from the center to the edges of the image.
Distortion is carefully controlled.
