It consists of 2 filter frames (4 x 4"), a standard French flag, and 2 eyebrows, and is ideal for the Canon XL-1/2/H1, Sony HVR-Z7, and the Panasonic DVX-100(A) cameras.
Capable of accommodating lenses of sizes up to 3 x 3" via 4 x 6" filters, the mattebox is compatible with most wide angle lenses in both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios. The French flag allows you to adjust the matte (or mask) to the zoom position of the lens and the 2 eyebrows that can be operated from outside of the mattebox prevent the lens from excessive sunlight. In addition, the mattebox includes 1 rotatable and 1 fixed 4" wide filter tray.
Equipped with a quick-lock mounting system, you can use the mattebox as a clip-on (attached directly to the lens front) or mount it using an MBS-100 mattebox support along with a bars adaptor. The 105mm to M72 step-down adaptor ring proves useful to adapt to M72 threaded lens fronts.
