Sony Compact 4K/HD POV System Camera - Triple 2/3" Single-Shutter 4K CMOS Sensors - With Optional Software
The HDC-P50 is a lightweight and compact Point of View (POV) system camera.
Integrating seamlessly with existing HD infrastructures, lenses, and accessories, it provides ambitious program creators with exciting new possibilities for HD, 4K HDR, and HD HFR production.
This lightweight and compact POV system camera features the world's first triple 2/3" single-shutter 4K CMOS sensor system, delivering exceptional image quality, extraordinary sensitivity, and a wide dynamic range.
Thanks to ultra-precision alignment technology and three 4K sensors on a newly developed prism, it achieves the expanded color gamut of the ITU-R BT.2020 broadcast standard. As a result, the HDC-P50 delivers exceptional image quality for demanding 4K/HDR live production environments.
The camera can produce incredibly sharp and clear 4K HDR* images directly from the camera head without the need for a separate processing unit.
In addition, HD HFR* output at up to 6x is possible directly from the camera. Suitable for standalone or multi-camera shoots, the HDC-P50 can be crane-mounted or used in a fixed position.
It is also ideal for a wide range of shooting situations, such as in combination with a camera stabilizer, in handheld mode, during wireless shooting, or during aerial shots from a helicopter.
*4K HDR functionality requires the HZC-UHD50 4K license.
*HD HFR functionality requires the HZC-HFR50 High Frame Rate license.
Next-Generation Imaging
The HDC-P50 features the world's first 2/3-inch 4K CMOS sensor with single-shutter technology, eliminating "jello effect" and banding noise.
The next-generation imager captures pristine 4K images with extremely low noise, exceptional sensitivity, and a wide dynamic range, achieving the expanded color space of the ITU-R BT.2020 broadcast standard.
A newly developed digital signal processor is also available that maximizes the extraordinary imaging power of the new sensor.
Dual Optical Servo-Controlled Filters
Dual optical filter rings for neutral density (ND) and color correction (CC) offer broader creative possibilities in varying lighting conditions.
Both filters can be controlled from a remote control panel or a master setup unit.
Seamless Integration into Sony HD Workflows
The HDC-P50 enhances Sony's renowned HDC series of live production solutions.
It offers direct compatibility with a wide range of accessories and remote control panels.
The camera is also designed for integration with third-party control systems.
Easy migration from HD to 4K
The HDC-P50 integrates seamlessly into Sony's ever-expanding 4K live production environment.
With an optional software update, the camera can capture 4K images for multiple 4K and HD outputs.
Direct HFR output up to 6x
The HDC-P50 can output 2x, 3x, 4x, and 6x HD HFR directly.
Because the HFR output can be an HDR image, dynamic content can be captured from various shooting positions, such as the goal area or a helicopter.
The signal can be output via two 12G-SDI cables to the live production server. PWS-4500.
