The V-RAPTOR [X] 8K VV combines the strengths of both RED camera families into one powerful tool for any production. It combines the low-light performance and resolution of the V-RAPTOR line with the KOMODO® global shutter.
Leveraging RED's 8K VV sensor, the V-RAPTOR [X] delivers the benefits of large format, 8K acquisition, and high frame rates, all in a compact body weighing just over 1.8 kg.

The V-RAPTOR [X] is the first large-format global shutter camera available.
It is built with key features such as dual 12G-SDI outputs for independent monitoring, a locking Canon RF lens mount, and CFexpress Type B media.
Built-in audio preamps and a redesigned sensor cavity to mitigate stray light dramatically improve contrast and overall performance.
Global Vision
The RED Global Vision suite uses the global shutter sensor to provide greater flexibility.
The Extended Highlights feature allows the camera to recover extreme detail in highlights for HDR finishes or smoother roll-offs in SDR.
It also includes Phantom Track to simplify virtual production (GhostFrame?), capturing separate R3D clips for each sub-frame and enabling real-time monitoring on each SDI output.
IP Connectivity
The DSMC3 platform offers advanced solutions such as remote control, native integration with Frame.io, direct upload to AWS, and RED Connect for live 8K R3D video over IP or 4K SMPTE ST 2110-compliant video.
