Thanks to new technology, the compact microphone features various directionality options, from super-directional to omni-directional. The high-performance shotgun microphone delivers astonishing audio quality, in particular when used with cameras that support direct digital input via the Multi Interface Shoe. The ECM-B1M has 3 patterns of directionality, including super-directionality, in one compact microphone. Digital interface support ensures the highest quality audio, while multi-interface cradle connection eliminates the need for cables and separate power supplies. Full sound controls included.
Three modes of directionality:
Advanced digital signal processing makes it possible to select different patterns of directionality in one versatile microphone: super-directional, uni-directional and omni-directional.
Superdirectionality in a compact microphone:
Eight high-performance units combine with a next-generation beamforming algorithm to produce extremely precise directionality that excludes off-axis sound. All this is enclosed in an extremely compact microphone, with a length of only 99.3 mm.
Elimination of mechanical noises:
The advanced anti-vibration and anti-shock design effectively reduces low-frequency noise and mechanical noise that can interfere with sound quality. The absence of cables prevents any mechanical noise from being transmitted to the microphone through cables and connectors.
High sound quality and low noise:
When connected via the Multi Interface Shoe of a compatible camera with a built-in digital audio interface, the audio signal is transferred directly to the camera in digital format without any distortion. A simple switch also ensures compatibility with a wide range of analog interface cameras.
Effective filter for crystal clear audio:
Digital signal processing allows for the integration of a low-pass filter that suppresses subsonic noise, enhancing audio quality during recording and thus reducing the need for post-production.
Wireless connection:
Simply connect the microphone to the Multi Interface Shoe of a compatible camera for an audio and power connection that requires no cables or extra batteries. Sony's Multi Interface Shoe provides intelligent connectivity and the ability to control a range of accessories for maximum security and mobility while shooting with the Alfa system.
Essential controls:
The recording level control, analog output for compatibility with various cameras and the attenuator that allows you to easily set the most suitable signal levels make this microphone extremely versatile. With that level of control, post-production is stress-free and hassle-free.
