AJA KONA 5 è una scheda I/O PCIe 3.0 a 8 canali progettata per flussi di lavoro di editing video e audio complessi. È dotata di quattro connettori HD-BNC 12G-SDI bidirezionali che supportano l'acquisizione e l'uscita di video fino a HFR 8K. Dispone inoltre di un'uscita HDMI 2.0 per il monitoraggio e include un cavo breakout per ingresso/uscita audio AES, ingresso/uscita timecode LTC e controllo RS-422.

I connettori SDI bidirezionali consentono l'acquisizione e il monitoraggio simultanei. Supportando il 12G, i connettori riducono anche i punti di errore e offrono la retrocompatibilità con gli standard 6G/3G/1.5G. KONA 5 dispone inoltre di un keyer downstream hardware integrato che consente di sovrapporre facilmente grafica e immagini al video in ingresso in tempo reale.
